Acute migraine
History of Present Illness
34-year-old female presents to ED with severe frontal headache, photophobia, and nausea. Onset approximately 3 hours prior to arrival. Pain described as throbbing, rated 8/10.
Medications Administered
- Sumatriptan 100mg PO
Response to Treatment
Patient reported significant symptom relief within 45 minutes of medication administration. Pain decreased to 2/10.
Vital Signs
Assessment
- Acute migraine, responsive to treatment
- Discharged home with migraine precautions. No adverse reactions observed.
